Optimus is the first TV operator to deploy a personalized recommendations solution for both live and VOD content

 

Orca's content discovery solution, COMPASS will enable Optimus to increase their content revenues and smartly manage their content

RA'ANANA, Israel - March 17, 2010 - Orca Interactive, a global market leader in developing middleware and applications for IPTV, announced today that its inclusive content discovery solution COMPASS, has been deployed by Optimus Clix, the mass market brand of Sonaecom, a major telecommunications provider in Portugal.

 

Optimus content discovery includes personalized recommendations for both VOD and live as well as an explore mode, where viewers can enjoy personalized navigation through content that is related to content they have watched and liked. Initial survey between Optimus viewers show that personalized content recommendations are accurate and that the new service is attractive and useful for finding content.

 

Orca’s COMPASS is an inclusive personalized content discovery solution that uses a blend of algorithms to provide optimized recommendations for all TV content types, personalized navigation through explore functionality and advanced tools for targeted operator's promotions as well as tracking and analysis of recommendations' effectiveness.
